As we approach the end of the fourth quarter, students are tired of school. They want to be outside, they want to play on the beach, and most importantly, they are done doing work! That said, The Nobleman has compiled a list of some of the best ways to get your favorite teachers to waste some time in class and get to know your teachers a little better!
Ms. Glenn:
For those of you who don’t know Ms. Glenn, she has been working her entire life to cross crazy, fun feats off her bucket list. Last weekend, she was dining in the dark, and this weekend she is going sheep shearing. Ms. Glenn also loves to joke about her “Latin Nerd Camps,” or Latin immersion programs that she attends.
Ms. Strudwick:
Students say that Ms. Strudwick’s weakness is the Wordle and the Connections, so if you go into class and ask to play, she will likely say yes! You also can’t go wrong with a question of the day, especially if it digresses into a conversation about her life.
Mr. Ewins:
Mr. Ewins may seem hard to crack, but he loves to talk about his weekend or his day. For those of you who don’t know him well, he was also a DJ, so he’ll always talk about music! He usually will play some of his favorite music in class, so this is an easy segue into a long conversation about tunes.
Mr. Kovacs:
Students say Mr. Kovacs is a guy who has been everywhere and has a crazy story to go with each adventure. A “question of the day” is the best way to get him going on a crazy tangent. That way, an outrageous story will come up naturally.” For instance, one time he told a class about how he was dragged underwater by a whale on a marine biology trip, coming face to face with death!
Mr. Polebaum:
As anyone in assembly knows, Mr. Polebaum loves the Jr. Softball team. He also loves to talk about his cat Alfred and his “good old days at Nobles.” Given that he is a history teacher, Mr. Polebaum loves to answer random questions, like: “What did the drainage and sewer systems in 19th-century Europe look like?”
