When the spring sunshine starts to peek out after the gloomy, seemingly endless winter, many Nobles students will instantly flock to the Beach. While almost everyone will try their hand at various contests, some players stand above the rest. A select few will reach the highest level of glory with their performances on the Beach. Successes in academics, athletics, theater, or relationships are fleeting, but greatness on the Beach will stay with you forever. Welcome to the 2025 NBL draft, with general managers George Washington Copp Noble and James Greenough composing their squads.
Team Noble Round 1, Pick 1: Lucas Kemper-Tapia (Class I)
Kemper-Tapia’s soccer abilities fit perfectly with any of the myriad foot-related games, including siu/sewey, soccer tennis, and hacky sack. His competitiveness and experience make him a near-certain bet for success at the next level.
Team Greenough Round 1, Pick 2: Annie Spring (Class I)
Spring’s hacky sack expertise is well-known throughout the school, and her goalie instincts, honed not through hockey experience but instead through hours practicing her craft on the Beach, allow her to keep any kick up in the air. However, she will have to decide soon if she is going to pursue sack or lacrosse, making this a high-risk, high-reward pick.
Team Greenough 2.1: Ethan Cox (Class I)
A menace on the nets, Cox is commonly named as one of the top Spikeball players in the school. He has the perfect combination of touch and power, like his slapshot on the ice, and has a deep run in the 2024 Spikeball tournament on his résumé.
Team Noble 2.2: Noah Brauner (Class I)
Brauner is an artist with the frisbee in his hands, displaying impressive technique as well as raw throwing distance from his Varsity Ultimate experience. Especially with the Beach becoming busier and busier in the spring, his skills will be a big advantage for team success and community safety.
Team Noble 3.1: Rayan Salamipour (Class II)
As one of the “tech-iest” players in the school, Salamipour has the necessary passion and willingness to put his body on the line for any Beach game, specializing in Spikeball. He has declared for the draft early despite having one more year of school left. Who needs a high school degree if you can make it big in Spikeball, right?
Team Greenough 3.2: Caroline McCullough (Class I)
McCullough’s elite competitiveness and hand-eye and foot-eye coordination allow her to excel in numerous Beach contests. One of the top recruits in the class, she was committed to Duke but recently decommitted to enter the draft.
Team Greenough 4.1: Krishnan Menon (Class I)
Menon is a mainstay in the sack and sewey circles and boasts impressive foot skills. He seems to be a great addition with his pure passion and chill vibes, but some pundits question his upside. Team Greenough is clearly stacking up on some of the biggest sack stars.
Team Noble 4.2: Oliver Burstein (Class I)
Burstein is clearly one of the best fans in the school, always supporting Nobles teams every day of the week, and the Beach is no different for him. His energy, commitment, and Adirondack chair stance will boost any NBL team he joins.
