Dear Diary,
Today was a great day. Remember that boy I have been writing about? Well, since my last entry, something big happened. I can confirm that he 100% actually wants me. Monday morning, I was waiting for a friend in the library, and I STG I saw him looking at me. At that point, I was not quite convinced. Maybe he was just looking in my direction.
But this morning in assembly, I caught him looking at me again. I’ll admit, I was running a little late. I sprinted in at 7:59, pushing through the crowd right as Ms. Easterling closed the doors. As I stumbled through the dark up to my row, backlit by the stage, I looked up to see two big brown eyes. I would know them anywhere. He must have been waiting for me.
Then, I was walking to history in Shattuck when I passed him again. I was hustling down the hallway at 10:44, with exactly 1 minute to technically avoid being late, when I noticed him fast approaching. He looked right at me and did one of those little nods. I got to class at 10:50.
Later, in Chem, we were doing a worksheet when I dropped a pencil. It landed in the row in front of me. Right behind his ankle. As he turned around to hand me my pencil, our fingers brushed. A fleeting moment of inconceivable contact. But I know we both felt the sparks. It was with this touch that my suspicions were affirmed. Now, it was time to take action. “What’s the answer to number 5?” I asked. Unfortunately, he had turned around, just missing my question. It’s fine though. He was just playing hard to get. I wish I could tell him he did not have to play these games with me.
But I didn’t let it deter me. After Chem, my friends and I made our way through the brisk January air to the Castle. As I opened the door, I could tell that we hadn’t timed it well. The castle was packed, and all of the food lines had combined into one giant blob. Despite Dr. Hall’s earlier remarks, kids were pushing and shoving to get to the front. Honestly, who can blame them? Noodle bar–enough said. As I waited to grab my bowl, I felt a bump behind me. It was him again. Of course, he was in line with me. He then proceeded to follow me from the main line to the condiments line. He can’t get enough.
After lunch I walked myself back to the Academic Center for English. I spent those 70 minutes in the glass room, just watching him work away in the stacks. He is very studious. And tall. And gorgeous. And he definitely wants me back. Now that I know this, I need to figure out my next steps. Should I Snap him? Maybe I’ll ask him for more help with Chem. If he responds it will be even further confirmation that he loves me. Maybe we’ll even have a spring wedding in the Castle.
