Alex Janower (Class I)
Two 2 year Booth veteran
6:30 a.m.
Wakes up, gets dressed, eats breakfast to fuel her Booth duties, and leaves for school.
7:30 a.m.
All Booth members should be present, Alex arrives in Sketchy Parking Lot and meanders up to Lawrence Auditorium.
7:35 a.m.
GAlex greets Performing Arts Technical Director ErikMr. Diaz with an enthused “gGood mMorning!”, and is met with a less enthused mumble of acknowledgment.
7:40 a.m.
Begins her job for that morning, which rotates depending on the week.
Sits in the back of the Booth room with Nick Rodriguez (Class I) and punches the “GO” button for lights.
Stage and sound crew “test” the mics for sound check with their own original song lyrics.
Two members always work stage crew, prepping instruments/mics and sets for performances and organizing the stage during and after assembly, one member is on sound crew, stationed at the levels table and make sure mic and music sound is functioning correctly, the remaining members are located up in the Booth and oversee jobs like programm a.m.ming the lights, running the clock, and working the projector.
7:50 a.m.
Members managing the projector attempt to organize all the videos, slideshows, and images that weren’t properly placed in the dropbox, despite Booth’s very detailed instructions. Booth Crew Faculty Advisor MikeMr. Polebaum complains.
7:55 a.m.
Crew disperses and continue not to wear their headsets that which should be worn at all times, disrupting communications. Students file into the auditorium and deeply appreciate the sound crew member who’s playing Taylor Swift on aux.
7:58 a.m.
CAlex changes the stage background lights off the green setting, after successfully upsetting everyone who feels the green lights look terrible on stage.
8:00 a.m.
Students find their seats, Alex and other Booth members either stay in the room or find seats on the staircase outside the room to watch performances.
8:25 a.m.
Assembly finishes up, stage crew cleans up, members return to the Booth room, all lights go on.
Lindsay Popeo (Class I)
New to Booth this year
6:25
Alarm goes off, Lindsay wakes up, gets dressed, and is out the door by 7:15. Skips breakfast, but hits Starbucks first period after booth for a ????
7:30
Pulls up to Sketchy Parking Lot, and sprints up to Lawrence Auditorium. For big assemblies like Fringe Fest, booth members need to arrive as early as 7:05.
7:32
Meets the crew in the Booth room and starts her job of the week. Finds her seat at the sound table and works on computer projection and runs the music. Organizes videos and slideshows and times for when the projector is lowered and raised on the stage.
7:40
Finishes organizing projection images and walk-in music in time for sound checks.
Walks around and checks up on other crew making sure small things are in order and last minute minutes problems are fixed as everyone files into the auditorium.
8:00 a.m.
Assembly begins, Lindsay stays on top of things like making sure the clicker works correctly, and speakers cna scroll through their slides, the projector is running on time, and the lights are working properly.
8:25 a.m.
Assembly concludes. Clean up begins, Lindsay closes all tabs on the computer, logs out, and shuts it down.
