How To Wrap a Present

by Anna Perez, Staff Writer, December 2020
Do you put off all of your holiday wrapping until the last possible second? Is that because you have no idea how to properly wrap a present? If so, look no further! To accompany the instructional video above, here are written steps to help you properly wrap your present – a gift from The Nobleman to you! Happy holidays!
Step One: Gather all of your materials. (Timestamp – 0:08)
You will need the following:
Step Two: Measure and cut your paper. (Timestamp – 0:17)
Unroll some wrapping paper and place your present face up on top of it. Fold over one edge of the paper to make sure the entire present will be covered. You may use a pen to outline a line you will cut, or simply make the cut without any pen-assistance because you’re feeling brave. Make sure that you are cutting enough paper to cover the entire present when you wrap it.
Step Three: Tape paper to the bottom of the present. (Timestamp – 0:37)
Begin by cutting off any excess paper you will not need. (Pro tip: save it for another present!) You may flip the present over so that the recipient will see the top upon unwrapping the present, but that is optional. Fold over one side of the wrapping paper onto the present and tape it. Do the same with the side opposite to the one you previously taped.
Step Four: Cut and tape the sides of the present. (Timestamp – 1:02)
Fold down the flap hanging from the top of the present. You may need to cut it so that it fits. Tape down the flap. Then, fold the sides in towards the present (this should form a triangle.) Tape down the triangle, and repeat on the other side. With the remaining paper, fold over the edge to ensure neatness and fold against the side of the present. Secure with tape. Repeat all of these steps on the other side of the present!
Step Five: Admire your great work! (Timestamp – 1:34)
Look at the beautiful present you’ve just wrapped! Bask in its glory! Of course, this joy is only momentary, as you realize that your perfect wrapping job will be destroyed by the recipient in a matter of seconds, but let’s not dwell on that.
Step Six: Place the present! (Timestamp – 1:46)
Place your present wherever it needs to be (ex. Under the tree, on your friend’s doorstep, etc.)! At least you can admire it for a bit before it’s torn to shreds. Despite the imminent destruction, it’s always nice to see the joy your present brings to another person.
